Exploitation and Distribution Licenses Franco-Swiss national, Olivier Aknin studied economics in Paris and then obtained a Master in Management of Audiovisual and Telecommunications at Dauphine University, Paris. He then moved to New York City where he worked as an assistant director of international sales at Fox Lorber Associates. He came back to Paris in 1999, where he worked as the production coordinator at Parnasse International and in the Business & Legal Affairs department of Films Distribution.
A founding partner of Backup Films, Olivier is in charge of brokering and negotiating with distribution companies and sales agents on behalf of our clients. |

Film Project Acquisition Franco-British national, David Atlan-Jackson studied international finance and English literature in Paris and completed a masters degree in Entertainment & Media Business Administration at La Sorbonne, Paris. Assistant multimedia director at Sony Music, production coordinator at Gaumont Television and commercial manager at French tv channel CineInfo, he has acquired a multitude of business experiences in the various sections of the media world.
A founding partner of Backup Films, David is in charge of tracking the film projects and following their development before Backup Films is involved in their financing. He gets a first look on the incoming film projects, assess their feasibility and envisage the potential financing schemes that can be correlated with them. |

Development and co-productions
French national, Jean-Baptiste Babin is a law graduate from King’s College, London and La Sorbonne, Paris. He worked in the corporate finance department of the US law firm Sullivan & Cromwell and the UK law firm Allen & Overy. In 2001, upon graduation of an MBA from ESSEC business school, Paris, he became responsible for Business & Legal Affairs at French production company Elzevir Films.
A founding partner of Backup Films, Jean-Baptiste is in charge of the development funding and intervenes in the scouting of projects as well as the negotiation of co-productions on behalf of our clients. |

Franco-Swiss national, Pascal is a graduate of the ESSEC Business School in Paris and has followed the Arts and Media MBA program of the Schulich Business School in Toronto. He has previously worked at Diaphana Distribution as an assistant to the head of video department.
Pascal joined Backup Films in 2006 and is in charge of setting up co-production agreements and securing public financing, including the drafting and follow up of the funding applications to European bodies Eurimages fund and MEDIA program. |

French national, Chloe is a graduate of ESRA, Paris, and has obtained to UCLA's Enternatinment and Media Management Intensive Certificate in Los Angeles. After studying Film Production at the Manhattan Institute of Management in New York, she worked at Tang Media, ID Distribution and the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for the organization of the Emmy Awards.
Chloe joined Backup Films in 2009 and is in charge of communication for the company and its affiliated funding vehicles, including COFICUP, COFANIM and DISTRICUP.
